Overview of the Partner Route

Entry Clearance

The first step to joining your family in the UK is by applying for Entry Clearance.

Further Leave to Remain

FLR – This is the extension of the Partner visa.

British Citizenship

After holding Settled Status, you are able to apply for British citizenship straight away, unlike other visa routes, which would require you to hold Settled Status for a minimum of 12 months first. Once approved, you can apply for a British passport.

 

Leave to Remain

LTR – Initial Partner visa inside the UK.

Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement)

Settled status, also known as indefinite leave to remain (ILR), grants permission to live, work, and study in the UK permanently without a time limit.
